Hello Wax Trax! people!
Sorry to have been quiet for so long. A lot going on around here and we hope you will be as excited as we are.
So let’s get down to some serious brass tacks.
We are very proud to announce today that WAX TRAX! will be releasing the new single from Cocksure. The 3 song single titled “TKO Mindfuck” will be available mid-June on 12” vinyl and digital download formats. As if that wasn’t enough, the title track features guest vocals from none other than our favorite Belgian dance commando, Richard 23.
Since Wax Trax! has always been the label to throw in something special, we thought we would continue the tradition by offering a very limited run on colored vinyl. We are specifically holding these back for our pre-order customers starting in May and will only be available through waxtraxchicago.com
Of course, regardless of when or where you decide to pick yours up, you will find a pretty bitchin’ poster and download code lovingly inserted with the record. (We promise to kiss each item before we insert it, just because we care.)
A little bit about Cocksure for the uninitiated:
Chris Connelly (Revolting Cocks, Ministry, Acid Horse, PTP) & Jason Novak (Acumen Nation, Czar) have managed to create a wonderful world smeared with dirt, piss, and the loving caress from an old “special friend”. These guys have successfully returned to the dark place that got us all addicted in the first place. If you have ever been a fan of these fine fellows, Cocksure won’t disappoint.
This release will roll out as WAX 9196. I think longtime Wax Trax! fans will be able to figure it out.
What will happen as we move forward? As long as we’re having fun we will keep at it. We hope you will join us for the ride. WAX TRAX! will most likely focus primarily on limited vinyl pressings and special projects from new as well as established artists within the Wax Trax! family. This has to be a labor of love, and if we don’t feel a connection with the project, it isn’t going to happen.
So yeah…Just to recap, WAX TRAX!= New 12” from Chris & Jason (and Richard 23!) in June 2014.
I know it’s hard to follow that news up, but we’re gonna try:
What’s up with the WAX TRAX! Documentary, you ask? A TON. As we mentioned in our last post, we headed out to LA last month for some very special interviews. Camera time with key family members & employees along with the always charming FLA and TKK made the trip better than we could ever hope for. In addition to our West coast homies, we were thrilled to also be able to interview Sascha waaayy over in Hamburg earlier this month. Kapt’n K…We salute you!
We are really getting mighty close to the end of our filming and then it’s into the editing room. The fog is starting to lift and we hope to have a better idea of a general release date soon.
I know this may not be new news to many fans, but it is definitely worth noting. Let’s talk about some My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and their new record and upcoming tour.
We have heard the new Spooky Tricks release and I can tell you first hand that this is awesome! In my humble opinion, this totally has the same TKK energy and campy darkness from their early Wax Trax era. I believe the scheduled tour promises to dig deep into their catalog complete with some fan favorite hidden gems.
If you miss this one, you may just be kicking yourself later.
Speaking of tour…FLA kicks off their European ECHOES tour this June. Front Line Assembly have been pretty busy putting the finishing touches on their new release due out in May. As if that wasn’t enough for Mr. Leeb, it looks like there is another Noise Unit album in the works (dude-do you ever sleep?).
You can find out all the dirty details at the Front Line Assembly home page.
Thanks to all of you who grabbed the new Cyberaktif shirt. They have been flying off the shelves in the Wax Trax! Records online store, and we are so happy that you love them as much as we do.
What’s next for new reissued store merch?….Can’t give everything away yet but there is no doubt that it should make all the xians a little nervous.
Whew…That’s it for now. As always, join other fans and Wax Trax! artists in the official Wax Trax! Facebook group for unlimited Wax Trax! luv and don’t forget to participate on #waxtraxfriday on our twitter feed.
Disclaimer: In the above description of the new Cocksure 12″ my word of choice was whiz. Mark thought it sounded grittier with the word piss. I agree…I just don’t like to say it.
